After college, Anna Beth moved back to Gruver where she worked at Gruver State Bank and served as one of the organists in the Gruver United Methodist Church. Later, she moved to Austin, Texas where she served as Senior Vice President of Public Relations at Austin National Bank Oak Hill. Upon retirement, Anna Beth returned home to Gruver where she picked up right where she left off serving in the church, playing bridge, and having coffee dates with her dearest friends. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Anna Beth. She loved hosting meals in her home, growing peonies in her backyard, playing Claire De Lune on the piano, and sharing her kindness with everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Nellie and Clarence Winder, and her first born child Clarence Allen Wood.
Anna Beth is survived by her daughter, Frances Wood Eckols and her husband Tom; her daughter, Joyce Wood Simon; five grandchildren, Nelson, Byron, Steffany, Cayla and Rebekah; eleven great grandchildren; her sister, Marguerite Nelson; and her three nieces, Lisa, Cheryl and Kathy.
Anna Beth was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. The family would like to thank the staff at Hansford Manor for nine years of wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alex Ellis Memorial Cemetery Fund or Gruver United Methodist Church.
