Candelaria "Candy" Rivera  81, of Spearman passed away on Tuesday, August 16,2022 in Spearman.  Viewing will be on Thursday, August 18,2022 from 11a.m. until 9:00p.m., Friday, August  19, 2022 from 9:00a.m. until 9:00p.m.  Funeral services will be Saturday, August 20,2022 at the Union Church in Spearman at 10:00a.m. with Rev. Mark Murray and Pastor Seferino Ibarra officiating.  Burial will follow at Hansford Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Candy was born on January 15, 1941 in Batesville, Texas to Pablo Rios and Martina Lozano Rios.  She was a member of the El Camino Church of Spearman.  Candy loved to cook, loved gardening and her flowers.  She loved the time she could spend with family and friends as she was always called grandma by those who knew her and loved her.   She was a very loving and caring, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, David Ochoa Sr., son, David Jr., 3 brothers, Cirildo Rios , Pablo Rios Jr., Margarito Rios, sister, Aurora Sandoval and husband Gregorio Rivera.

Candy is survived by daughters, Luisa and husband Aaron Volden, Deanna and husband Brad Chisum, Oralia and Roger Macias, Ann Margaret Ochoa and husband Tracy Gibson, son, Daniel and wife Linda Ochoa, grandsons, David Allen Ochoa, Marcus Ochoa, Eric Volden, Mark Young, granddaughters, Sheila Wyrick, DeAnna Miller, Miranda Headrick, Christina  Mendez, Rachel Moore, Ashley Pferger and Aubrey Lansbury.  She is also survived by sisters, Pete and Ramona Garcia, Maria Inez Garfio, brothers, Mario Rios and Selestino and wife, Diana Ochoa and 24 great-grandchildren and her extended  Avlos-Rivera families.
