Carmela Nevarez, 61, of Perryton, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024 in Perryton, Texas.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Perryton, officiated by Sergio Estrada.  Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton, Texas.

Ms. Nevarez was born on July 16, 1962 in Torreon Coahuila, Mexico to Marcelino Ayala and Flora Ayala.  She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Perryton, and she worked as a preparation cook in restaurants.

Ms. Nevarez is survived by her mother, Flora Ayala; one daughter, Marcy Navarez and husband Pepe Trejo of Perryton, Texas; two sisters, Susie Estrada and Mona Carrasco, both of Perryton, Texas; two granddaughters, Allizay Barraza and Samila Trejo; one grandson, Emilio Trejo; and many nieces and nephews.

Ms. Nevarez was preceded in death by her father; and one sister, Maria Gaytan.
