Claude"Pat" Patrick Jackson Jr., 87, of Spearman and Hot Springs Arkansas, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024. Pat was born on the family farm in Hansford County on September 18, 1936 to Claude Jackson and Bessie Thompson Jackson. After high school he attended West Texas University briefly but came back home to farm. He joined the army reserves and shortly thereafter married Charolette Arnold of Gruver and made a home in Spearman. He continued to farm but soon realized he wanted more, which led him to partner with his closest friend Butch Lasater in oil and gas exploration, which was his jackpot in a business which he loved, but more importantly in a friendship that created a lifelong bond that few are lucky enough to ever know. Realizing his sight was failing years later, he and Charolette acquired a second home in Hot Springs, Arkansas where he enjoyed his lifelong passion of horse racing. He always drifted back to the panhandle to be at home with friends and family. His story started here and now it has ended here.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Janelle Hinson, Rose Kunselman, Jo McLaughlin, and Claudine Clark, his brothers, Bill Jackson and Danny Ray Jackson and his son-in-law, Todd Lawrence.
Pat is survived by his wife Charolette of the home, daughter Tammie Lawrence of Arkansas, son Chance and wife Debra Jackson of Conroe, Texas, grandchildren, Abigail Lawrence, Colton and Lauren Jackson. He is also survived by his sister June Barkley of Gruver, brother, Punk and wife, Scarlett Jackson of Spearman, many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Family suggests memorials in memory of Pat be to Hansford County Hospice and Hansford Manor, 707 Roland, Spearman, TX.79081.
