Detina Akridge, 52, of Turpin, Oklahoma passed away surrounded by family and friends at home on Sunday, December 24,  2023.  Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m, Friday, December 29, 2023 from 9:00 a.m to 9:00 p.m., and Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Victory Family Church, officiated by Marlon Sparks.  Burial will follow at Ochiltree Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton, Texas.

Mrs. Akridge was born on September 15, 1971 in Perryton, Texas to Jolene Harris.  She married her husband, Ronnie, on August 8, 2015 in Elmwood, Oklahoma.  She loved the derby and racing, and she mostly loved being a grandma to her eight grandchildren.  She's best known as "Tina Tough."

Mrs. Akridge is survived by her husband, Ronnie; two sons, Justyn Cawyer of Turpin, Oklahoma, and James Akridge of Beaver, Oklahoma; two daughters, Cheyanne Cawyer, of Borger,Texas, and Chelsea Akridge of Beaver, Oklahoma; three sisters, B.J. Scott of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jammie Ingram of Liberal, Kansas, and Christine Blair of Weatherford, Texas; two brothers, Randy Green of Midland, Texas, and Tracy Green of Florida; and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Akridge was preceded in death by her first husband, Weldon Cawyer, Jr.; her mother, Jolene Capps; one brother, Bobo Capps; one brother-in-law, Jamie Akridge; and her father, Bobby Capps.
