Dolores  "Dodie" Smith Beedy, 90, of Spearman passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Hansford Manor.   Graveside services will be on Monday, August  15, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Hansford Cemetery with John Scott officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Dodie was born on August 17, 1931 to Sybol and Leo Smith in Dodge City, Kansas.  Her mother passed when she was a young girl and her father later married Darlene who became her mother. She graduated from Stratford High School as Valedictorian and later she graduated from Texas Tech. Dodie Smith and Brad Beedy were married on September 9, 1951 in Stratford, Texas.  She was a member of the First United  Methodist Church in Spearman. Dodie loved playing bridge and playing the piano.  She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.  She loved watching her grandchildren at all of their various activities.  Dodie had a brilliant mind but was also very practical.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Brad; son, Scott Beedy; brother, Joy Smith; and sister, Beverly Pemberton.

She is survived by her two sons, Jeff Beedy and wife, Shelly of Cave Springs, AR, Kyle Beedy and wife, Shelley of Flower Mound, TX; and daughter-in-law, Becky Beedy of Lake City, CO. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kristin Whitehead, Kevin Beedy, Blake  Beedy,  Brittni  Sanders, Tanner Beedy, Ashley Dumar and Avery Beedy, along with her 11 great-grandchildren.
