Don "Bud" Hintergardt, 85, of Denton, Tx formerly of Gruver, Tx passed away December 27, 2020. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Gruver Cemetery with Rev. Steve Chappell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. The funeral home in Spearman will be open for viewing/visitation on Wednesday (12/30/20) from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m and Thursday (12/31/20) 9:00 a.m until service time. Due to COVID 19 guidelines, we will be practicing social distancing and occupancy numbers will be limited. Bud was born October 28, 1935 to Ruben and Mildred (Reed) Hintergardt in Gruver, Texas. He married Camilla "Katie" Bumpus August 26, 1992 in Dalhart, Texas. When he was younger, he was an avid bull rider. He worked on his family ranch and cowboyed for other ranches around the area his entire life.

He is survived by his wife, Katie Hintergardt, of the home; son, John Hintergardt of Austin, Tx; daughter, Amy Richardson of Panama City, Fl; step-daughters, Kathy Simanonok of Richardson, Tx and Donna Scribner of Seymour, Tx; one brother, Richard "Dick" Hintergardt; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Mildred Hintergardt and step-daughter, Janis King.
