Donna Jean Kiser, 88, went to her heavenly home on June 10, 2024, in Spearman, Texas.

Donna was born in Colorado City, Texas, on April 17, 1936, to James Henry and Dorothy Louise Ballard. After graduating from Dumas High School, she worked at Dumas Memorial Hospital and later, the highway maintenance department. She received many awards throughout the years, including state awards as a Moore County 4-H adult leader. She wrote many 4-H Method Demonstrations and was a remarkable 4-H leader. Donna knew the encyclopedia front to back and always kept an atlas by her chair.

She was our first official Google. Donna met her husband, Raymond Shirley "Skeeter" Kiser, at the drive-in picture show in Dumas, while she was working the concession stand. They were married on May 11, 1956, in Dumas, Texas. They spent the next 64 years making their home in Moore County and raising their two children, LuAnn and Jerry Don "Charlie."

Donna was always helping Skeeter on the ranch wherever he needed it. She was always available to cook a good meal, sew an outfit, or take a road trip. Donna was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dumas. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed attending her granddaughters' events as they grew up. Donna enjoyed road trips to see the bluebonnets, a good puzzle, taking all the pictures, imitating Winnie the Pooh during bedtime stories, and making pallets on the floor when her granddaughters spent the night. Donna enjoyed being grandma the most.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Skeeter, son-in-law, Steve Shields, brother-in-law, Jake Kiser, brother-in-law, Harley Kiser, and brother-in-law, LeeRoyce Whitecotton.

Donna is survived by her daughter LuAnn Shields of Pringle, Texas; son Jerry Don "Charlie" Kiser and wife Nanelle of Dumas, Texas; four granddaughters – Jenna Beth Kiser of Gruver, Texas, Tabatha Jones and husband Matt of Bowie, Texas, Josie Holt and husband Brad of Gruver, Texas, and Tara Ellis and husband Kristopher of Livingston, Texas; six great-grandchildren – Baker Jones, Bailor Holt, Bowen Ellis, Merritt Holt, Benton Jones, and Brooks Ellis; sister Edna Lou Whitecotton of Tyler, Texas; and numerous family, friends, and neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in honor of Donna to the Moore County Senior Citizens Center, P. O. Box 2114, Dumas, Texas 79029. A memorial will be planned, at a later date, for friends and family.
