Donnie Pool, 85, of Shattuck, Oklahoma died on June 22, 2026 in Shattuck, Oklahoma. No services are planned. Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton, Texas.

Donnie was born on November 25, 1940 in Spur Texas to Edgar Ernest Pool and Elsie Thelma Bachman. Donnie was the oldest of 8 kids: Brenda Stuart of Lavaca Arkansas, Ann Black (Jerrel) of Higgins TX, Sandra Ryle of Grand Prairie TX, Teddy Pool (Angie) Higgins TX, Eddie Pool (DeeLyn) of Shattuck OK, and Ricky Pool (Cheryl) of Higgins TX.

Donnie graduated from Spearman high school in 1959, and he married Dixie Leon Melton in Spearman, Texas on June 1, 1962. Donnie lived on numerous ranches as a cowboy and retired as a truck driver. He lived in several different towns in Texas, but he spent most of his life in Higgins and Spearman, Texas. He enjoyed horse training, horse racing, western movies, country dancing and music!

He is survived by his four children: Lenny Pool of Higgins TX, Jeff Pool (wife Dena) of Amarillo TX, Trevor Pool (wife Diane) of Waukomis OK, and Donda Lozano of Arnett OK. Donnie is also survived by his grandchildren Crystal, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Jensen, Hunter, Zach, Garrett, Mallory, Kai, and Hali. Donnie had numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Donnie was preceded in death by his wife Dixie Pool, his parents Ed and Elsie Pool; his brother Mike Pool; and two brothers-in-law, Jack Stuart and Dale Ryle.
