Sonny Smith, 82, of Perryton, Texas passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2026 in Perryton. No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton, Texas.

Sonny was born on November 2, 1943 in Borger, Texas to John Euel Smith and Anna Mae Cecil Smith. He began working in the oil field at the age of 14. He loved playing the guitar, and he loved to go fishing. He loved his dogs, and he especially loved his family and children. He was a big teddy bear, and he had the biggest heart!

Sonny is survived by five daughters, Carolyn Aldridge and husband Carl of Purcell, Oklahoma, Lee Ann Carroll and husband Donald and Tina Merrill, both of Norman, Oklahoma, Alicia Smith of Alberta, Canada, and Dana Rodriguez and husband Joe of San Antonio, Texas; numerous stepchildren; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna; one son, Philip Smith; one daughter, Suzanne Manry; one brother, Johnny Smith; five sisters, Sue Bocox, Joann Marshall, Louise Crawford, Marie Meek and Fay Ball; and three grandchildren, Tatum Aldridge, Jacob Trevathan, and Sunni Manry.
