Elvin William (Pockets)  Wright  was born on November 24, 1921, in Lamesa, Tx. He passed to his heavenly home on Sunday March 13, 2022. A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday March 19, 2022 at the Gruver Cemetery at 2:00pm. with  Rev. Scott Curry officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman.

Elvin was born on November 24, 1921 in Lamesa, Texas to Otis Wright and Eva Vardaman  Wright.  He was  a veteran of WWII.  He spent all his adult life in Gruver Texas first as a mechanic, then farming. After retiring he and his wife enjoyed traveling in their motor home with friends to many fun places in the US.  He enjoyed visiting with his children and grandchildren.  Pockets  was a wonderful caregiver for many years to his wife Edith after she became disabled.  He will be missed.

Elvin was preceded in death by Edith, his wife of 59 years, his father Otis Wright, his mother Eva Wright (Vardaman), along with 5 siblings.

He is survived by his daughter Karen Blodgett, (Glenn) his son Ronald Wright, (Lelia) five grandchildren,Neal Wright, Brandie Mustian, Buffie Guynes, David Fischer, Steve Fischer, eleven great grandchildren, Mallory Wright, Gavin Wright, Arlo Wright, Mila Mustian, Maddox Mustian, Claire Guynes, Rebecca Guynes, Katherine Guynes, Jaylin Fischer, Chase Fischer, Taylor Fischer and one great great grandchild, Eleanor Fischer-Badran.
