Ernest Davis Barclay, 99, of Perryton, Texas passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024 in Perryton, Texas.  Viewing will be Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Friday, September 6, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Perryton, Texas.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Ochiltree Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton, Texas.

Mr. Barclay was born on April 30, 1925 in Perryton, Texas to Ray Barclay and Bessie Fulfer Barclay.  He married his wife, Bernadine Buxton, on July 8, 1950 in Clayton, New Mexico.  He served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S, Nashville, and he worked as a pipeline engineer in the petroleum industry.  He was a fisherman, and he loved working on small engines.

Mr. Barclay is survived by three daughters, Norma Kay Cudd of Perryton, Texas, Phyllis Cummings of Spearman, Texas, and Janie Thomas of Elk City, Oklahoma; two sons, David Barclay of Amarillo, Texas, and Gary Barclay of Enid, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Barclay was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; three brothers and two sisters.

The family suggests memorials be to one's favorite charity.
