Ernest Ruben Duran, 87, of Perryton, Texas, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025 in Perryton, Texas.  No services will be held.  Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton.

Mr. Duran was born on June 5, 1937 in Alamosa, Colorado to Damian Duran and Maria Martinez.  He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Perryton.  He married his wife, Bessie, in 1969 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and they were always together.  He worked for the City of Perryton for 30 years, and he was always working and keeping busy.  He loved teaching people anything.  He loved his family and especially his great-grandchildren.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Duran is survived by his wife, Bessie, of Perryton, Texas; two daughters, Debra Duran of Perryton, Texas, and LaTisha Wymer of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two grandsons, David Borunda of Perryton, Texas, and Eric Borunda of Lubbock, Texas; three step-daughters, Rebecca Pendleton of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Lorraine Martinez, also of Cheyenne; and Kathy Martinez of Pueblo, Colorado; two step-sons, Daniel Abeyta of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Henry Abeyta, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Duran was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lee Duran.
