Reta Rose Lesly passed peacefully in her sleep on February 4, 2025. Her family is comforted that she was not suffering from an illness or accident – God was just ready for her. She knew Jesus well, and had a husband among other family members waiting for her.

Reta was born in Natural Dam, Arkansas on October 31, 1940. She married the man who won her heart, Bobby Lesly, on September 22, 1960 in Odessa, Texas. They moved to Spearman, Texas during Easter of 1969 right before a Texas Panhandle blizzard. They became members of the Spearman Church of Christ shortly after.

Reta worked at First State Bank for many years and then at Permian Oil Transport for several more years until she retired to work with their family business, L & L Coffee Service. She also was Bobby's best tool fetcher when he did masonry work.

Reta and Bobby enjoyed their favorite pastime of fishing at Lake Tenkiller in Oklahoma and White River in Cotter, Arkansas. She was known to frequently beat everyone at Yahtzee during family gatherings. Through it all, she remained a devoted Christian, wife and mother – she didn't know how not to be.

Reta is preceded in death by her father Eura Rose in 2014 and her mother Ruby Rose in 1957. She lost her granddaughter, Laina Grotegut, in 2017 and then her husband Bobby beat her to heaven in 2019.

Reta is survived by one son, Richard Lesly and wife Sharon of Spearman; two daughters, Angela Grotegut and husband Mike of Gruver, Melissa Morel and husband Nathanial of San Antonio; nine grandchildren, Glen Lesly and wife Linsey, John Jeff Lesly, Drew Grotegut and wife Hannah, Parker Grotegut and wife Ashlyn; Emmalyn, Giovanna, Ellisen and Ethan Morel; and four great grandchildren, Grady, Warren and Hazel Grotegut and Cooper Lesly.

Reta is also survived by her loving sister Kaye Woodward and husband Gene, her precious sister-in-law, Elizabeth Taylor, and many nieces and nephews whom she all dearly loved.

Family suggests memorials in memory of Reta be to St Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St Jude PL, Memphis, TN. 38105-9959.
