Gene Wagner, 76, of Perryton, Texas passed away Friday, September 13, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas.  Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2024, and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. in Perryton, Texas.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Perryton. Graveside services will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton, Texas.

Mr. Wagner was born on April 27, 1948, in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Herman Wagner and Frankie Kile. Gene enjoyed truck driving and hanging out with his friends at the Smokehouse. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Gene is survived by his daughter, Michelle Garcia and husband Pablo of Perryton, Texas; grandchildren, Shane Cantrell and wife Stephanie of Beaver, Oklahoma, Briahna Garcia of Perryton, Texas, Josiah Garcia of Perryton, Texas, April Garcia of Big Springs, Texas, Laura Garcia of Schertz, Texas and Crystal Kinney of Big Spring, Texas; great- grandsons, Noah Cantrell and Elijah Cantrell; sisters, Gay Morris and husband David of Star Harbor, Texas and Gloria Mayfield and husband Bob of Largo, Florida; nieces, April Mayfield and Kendra Enget.

Mr. Wagner was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Genelle Cantrell.
