Hadley Dale Cates, 20, of Elmwood, Ok passed away December 24, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas. A graveside service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Capitol View Cemetery in Elmwood, Oklahoma with Blake Terrell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Booker. The funeral home in Booker will be open for viewing/visitation on Sunday (12/27/20) from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m and Monday (12/28/20) 9:00 a.m until service time. Due to COVID 19 guidelines, we will be practicing social distancing and occupancy numbers will be limited. Services will be broadcast live on Boxwell Brothers Facebook page for those who wish to watch (if there is enough cell phone service to log on). Hadley was born March 27, 2000 to Read and Kelli (Crawford) Cates. He was a resident of Lubbock, Texas and a native of Elmwood, Oklahoma. Hadley was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Booker. He was known by friends and family to be an unconventional free spirit with a zero boundaries approach to life. This approach allowed him to live life to the fullest extent possible.

He is survived by his parents Read and Kelli Cates of Elmwood, Oklahoma and a sister, Madison Barrett and her husband, Joe, of Cedar City, Utah.

In addition to family, he will also be leaving behind a copious amount of friends made along the way. Hadley knew no strangers. While he may be gone, his memories will live with us forever.
