Helen Jo Boyd, 89, of Gruver, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 in Spearman.   Viewing will be on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 12:00p.m. until 9:00pm, Friday, January 13, 2023 from 9:00a.m. until 9:00p.m and Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 9:00a.m. until 12:00p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman. Graveside service will be at Gruver Cemetery, 2:00 on January 14, 2023 with Rev. Mark Murray officiating.  A memorial will be at Hansford Manor in Spearman on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 3:00p.m.  Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Helen was born on December 31,1933 in Borger, Texas to Fred Sanders and Ethel Lucas Sanders. Helen and Irvin Boyd were married on May 22, 1951 in Gruver, Texas.  Helen was an avid Fiesta dishes collector and dealer.  A very active lady and was on the Board of Station Masters House Museum and involved in the Hansford County Historical Society, for over 60 years.  She was involved in many bowling leagues.  Helen was instrumental in moving the windmill farm to town.  She  also helped Irvin farm for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters, Betty West, Mary Wester and son, Daniel Boyd.

She is survived by son, Willis Boyd and wife, Sherry of Spearman, 8 grandchildren, Jammie, Shirley Diane, Alisa, Amy, Nikki, Travis, Kandace and Gabi.  She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.  She also leaves behind her twin sister, Hazel Stumpf.
