Howard Thomas
Douglas, III
Mar 31, 1949 — Sep 20, 2026
Frisco, Texas
Howard Thomas Douglas III, MD, age 77, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 20, 2026. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Holt Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton, Texas.
He was born on March 31, 1949 and graduated from Borger High School in 1967.
Tom graduated from the University of Texas Medical School, Galveston in 1978. After his residency, Tom spent the next thirty years in the practice of emergency medicine. Throughout his career, he cared for countless patients during some of their most urgent and vulnerable moments, offering compassion and skill when they needed it most. Tom loved people. He had a good heart.
As a man of deep faith in Jesus, Tom had many interests, since his childhood enjoying Westerns and war movies. From his first school day, Tom developed a fascination for and enjoyed studying the Natural sciences, never tiring of studying, never satisfying his curiosity for nature and nature’s God. His political views were an outgrowth of his Christian faith.
He is survived by his four children, Suzanne Terrazas, Barbara Douglas, Michael Douglas, and Mason Douglas; his two grandchildren, Paloma Terrazas, age 16, and Raul Terrazas, age 13; his brother, Lee of Nashville and his sister, Debbie of Sacramento. Tom was the son of Howard T. Douglas and Emma Lee Douglas. Tom’s love of the Dallas Cowboys was an honest inheritance from his mother. In his final years, Tom did not enjoy good health and his family is appreciative to God that our brother/father has now given him a new heavenly body, enabling him to move and do things we can’t even understand.
Tom’s faith, his many years of service as a physician, and the life he shared with his family will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
