Irene Snider, 84, of Spearman, TX passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022.  Viewing will be on Saturday, March 26, 2022, 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Sunday, March 27,2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A family visitation will be on Monday, March 28, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman. There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the First Assembly of God Church in Spearman at 10:00 a.m. with Tyler Hines officiating. Burial will follow at Hansford Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Irene Snider was born in the family dugout on the Gageby Creek in Hemphill County, TX.  She was one of ten children born to George and Cora Helton. She attended Briscoe schools. After leaving Briscoe, she met the love of her life, Vance Snider in Andrews, Texas.  They would later marry in May of 1957 in Lovington, New Mexico and then make their home in Spearman, Texas.  In Spearman, Irene was the secretary for the family business for five decades.

Irene loved to collect antiques, work in her yard and her garden, and she had an eye for home decor.  She enjoyed walking at Lake Palo Duro and the Canadian Bridge.  Traveling was something Irene enjoyed with Vance and her family.  She never left home without her 35 mm camera.

Irene was generous to those who knew and loved her.  She loved her family very much. To her grandkids, she was not like any other grandma, she was Irene.  Over the years in Spearman, she was a member of the Windmill Association, Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee, and the Red Hat Society.  Irene is loved and cherished by many and will be truly missed.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Marie Leicht and 7 siblings.

Irene is survived by her three sons, Bobby Snider and wife, Kay, of Spearman, Billy Snider and wife, Robin, of Amarillo and Jimmy Snider and wife, Jean, of Perryton.  She is also survived by two brothers, Pat and wife, Alberta Helton of Allison, TX and Perry and wife, Paula Helton of Wheeler, TX; grandchildren, LaShera McElhany, Kylie Moss, Taryn Snider, Vance Snider II., Jeremy Piatt, Crissy Leicht, Jake Leicht, Amanda Phillips, Meghan Snider, Jordon Snider and Sarah Worley; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Family suggests memorials be to the  First Assembly of God Church in Spearman.
