James "Jim" Burch 64, of Spearman passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021.  A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at the Hansford Cemetery with Rev. Garrett Griffin officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman.  Family suggests those who come to the memorial to wear a t-shirt and jeans.

James "Jim" Burch was born in Muncie, Indiana to Leon and Evelyn (Wagoner) Burch on November 21, 1957.

Jim has had several jobs over the years. He started working in the oil field right out of high school. He held several different positions when he worked on the rigs. When the oil field was slow, he would roof houses, build fences; take jobs that others did not want to take to provide for his family. In 2000, Jim decided to start driving a semi across the US. After several years of driving across the US, he came home and opened Jim's Speedy Lube Plus. Jim was offered a job as a pumper and closed his shop. He enjoyed driving around the Panhandle with his trusty sidekicks, Murphy, Aussie, and Lizzie.

Jim loved to spend time fishing or thinking about fishing when he wasn't thinking about fishing he was cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers or anyone but the Cowboys. He loved to spend time with his daughters and grandchildren. Jim married Berneice Burch on September 10, 2011, and she joined him on his camping/fishing trips at the lake. They had many adventures traveling across the US in their motor home or internationally on cruise ships. Jim was a creator at heart and always busy. If he had a problem or something to fix he would make something by hand or come up with brilliant ways that others would not have thought of. If there were, places to plant a tree at his home a tree would magically appear. Jim was also an avid gardener, growing anything from tomatoes and cucumbers to attempting his hand at fruit. He loved to grow cantaloupe.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Evelyn Burch.

Jim is survived by his wife of the home, Berneice; daughters Rachel O'Quin and husband, Shan, of Perryton, and Randi Rice and husband, Ronnie, of Edmond, Oklahoma; grandchildren Allison Hangvilay and husband, Randy, Jonathan Delozier and Michael Delozier all of Edmond, Georgia O'Quin of Perryton; sisters Jan Ellsworth of Spearman, Tx, JoLynn Griffin and husband, J.L., of Sheridan, Wyoming; brother Kelly Burch and wife, Margarita, of Happy, Tx; Great Aunt Gretchen, Uncle Bob Baker of Fremont, Indiana and many cousins several nieces and nephews. Good friends Rob Shields and Denver Carter.
