Javier Borunda Hernandez, 65, of Gruver, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022. Viewing and visitation will be on Tuesday September 20, 2022 until Mass on Wednesday.  Rosary will be on Tuesday, September 20,2022 at the Christo Redentor Catholic Church in Gruver at 7:00p.m..  Funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in Gruver with Father Victor Hugo Andrade officiating.  Burial will follow at the Gruver Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Javier was born on November 6, 1956 in Babonyaba, Satevo Chihuahua, Mexico to Abdon Borunda and Nicolsa Hernandez.  He was a member of the Christo Redentor Catholic Church in Gruver.

He worked for Perryton Equity Exchange for over 20 years.  He was a very loving father, grandpa and loved his family.  Javier was a jokester with a smile on his face and loved to make you angry for a good laugh.

He is survived by his son, Arnoldo Borunda of Artisia, NM; daughter, Noemi and husband, Noe Tarango of Gruver; brothers, Manuel Borunda Hernandez of Mexico, Abdon Borunda Hernandez of Mexico, Rafael Borunda of Gruver, and Josefina Borunda Hernandez of Mexico.  He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Javier Tarango, Rodrigo Tarango and Ivan Tarango.
