Jeanette “Sue” Kyle, 84, of Perryton, Texas passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026 in Amarillo, Texas. Services will be announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton, Texas.
Sue was born on May 30, 1941 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Otto Lee Hodges and Dorothy May Farney Hodges. She graduated high school in 1959, and went on to become a truck driver, of which she was extremely proud. She loved to go coyote hunting. She was a spectacular pool player, and she was known as a “pool shark”! She loved word searches, and she loved watching “Law and Order.” She especially loved her dogs.
“Remember the Lord is present even in the darkest of times and that is a wonderful truth when we have no ability to stand. He sustained us.”
Sue is survived by her daughter, Kim McCune of Perryton, Texas; her brother Dennis Hodges and her nephew Chris Hodges, both of Midwest City, Oklahoma; four granddaughters: Brandi McKenzie and husband Ty of Wichita, Kansas, Cyndi Hunter and fiancé Tyson of Midland, Texas, Brittnay Reyes and fiancé Jared, of Perryton, Texas, and Karissa Cornelious and husband Shawn of Perryton, Texas; eleven great grandchildren: Ty McKenzie and wife Jessica, Alexis McKenzie and partner Tyler, Keagan McKenzie, Ariel Rains and husband Jake, Cailtin Painter, Preston Painter and girlfriend Joselyn, Jessica Painter, Eli Reyes, Aja Reyes, Gianna Reyes, and Carter Cornelious; six great-great grandchildren: Reign, Khrome, Kohen, Maverick, Matthew, and Layla; and many family members and many friends.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Otto Lee and Dorothy Hodges; one sister-in-law Wanda Hodges and nephew Darin Hodges; one son-in-law Robert “Redneck” McCune; and her beloved pets Lance and Daisy.
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley,[a] I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." (Psalm 23)
