Jeanette Marie Smith, 67, of Perryton, Texas passed away Friday, April 4, 2025 in Perryton.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Perryton, Texas.  Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton.

Jeanette Marie Smith was born on August 30th, 1957 to Ivan and Mae Majors in Pueblo, Colorado. She was blessed with two younger siblings, Darla and Bobby. After graduating high school, she went to Oklahoma Christian College and met David. They then married on May 30th, 1977 at the Longmont Church of Christ in Colorado.

After marriage, they lived in Oklahoma for a while and then moved to Utah, where they lived for 16 years and had their daughter, Elizabeth. In 2001, they moved to Perryton, Texas where they have continued living.

Jeanie has spent her life going to the Church of Christ, any time the doors were open she wanted to be there. She loved to participate in all activities the church had to offer. She helped in the clothing house for many years. She spent years teaching kids' classes. She always loved to sing old hymnal songs and attend singing nights.

Jeanie also loved to socialize with anyone she could. She cherished ladies' breakfasts on Thursdays, bloom classes, and especially Wednesday morning Bible classes with lunch afterwards. She was able to attend Wednesday morning Bible class up until her final days as it was one of the most important things to her.

Jeanie was known for sending cards to her loved ones and would never forget to send one for a birthday or anniversary.

She loved to collect items with hummingbirds on them and any knick knack she thought was cute.

Jeanie loved to travel, see the mountains, try new restaurants, and play games - with Phase 10 being a family tradition.

Jeanie loved to keep up with her family's activities. She would attend anything she was able to watch.

In her last couple years of life, she was able to continue enjoying watching her granddaughter, her pride and joy, in her school activities, and most importantly was able to see her be baptized.

Jeanie is survived by her husband, David. Her daughter, Elizabeth Turner and husband, Michael and one Granddaughter, Ava.

Jeanie is also survived by her sister, Darla Geiger and husband Jerry. Her mother-in-law, Fern Smith. And many other loved ones - including her nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Mae Majors, her brother, Bobby and her father-in-law, Tommy.

The family requests that any donations be made to the Mountain States Children's Home in Longmont, Colorado.
