Jerry Wells, 72, of Perryton, Texas, passed away March 15, 2022 in Borger, Texas.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Laverne Cemetery in Laverne, Oklahoma, officiated by Brandt O'Quin.  Visitation at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home will be Thursday, March 17, 2022 and Friday, March 18, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. There will be a family visitation at the funeral home Friday, March 18, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.   Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton, Texas.

Mr. Wells was born on December 21, 1949 in Enid, Oklahoma to Murlin Wells and Ruth Diller Wells. He joined the United States Marine Corp. and served from 1970 to 1974.  He married his wife, Lora Helmuth, on December 20, 1971 in Jet, Oklahoma.  They had one son and one daughter.  He worked for Equity for 37 years.

Mr. Wells is survived by his wife, Lora, of Perryton, Texas; son Ryan Wells and wife Audra of Spearman, Texas; daughter Keidi Mull and husband Jimmy of Guymon, Oklahoma; sister Shirley Wagoner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a brother-in-law, Jerry Helmuth of Follett, Texas; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his parents, Murlin and Ruth Wells; and his parents-in-law, Jim and Donna Helmuth.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Mutt Hut Rescue, 207 S. James St., Spearman, Texas, 79081.
