Jess was born October 10, 1954 in Perryton, TX to Carol and Mary Elizabeth (Sammons) Wall.

He was a lifetime resident of Perryton except for the few years of college, two years teaching ag in Claude, Tx and a brief season of time being a banker at Sunray, TX.

Jess was a man of many names. Husband, Dad, and Pappy were his favorites. Many people knew him also as Billy Bob Johnson and Buford K. Wilson.

He was proud to be a Perryton Ranger and involved in the Perryton community.

His college years allowed him to meet the love of his life at Clarendon College. He and Doris married on July 17, 1976 in Wellington, Tx. He was also given the honor of being the Masked Rider at Texas Tech in the years of 76-77. He was an avid Texas Tech fan needless to say.

He was a man of God who was unforgettable, never went without a smile, and had a way of making everyone feel special. He was a gentle soul who liked to be a cut-up, bringing people laughter and fun. He was a one-of-a-kind man and a man of great character.

He had a passion for his cows, definitely a rancher at heart. He was a hard worker but never considered taking care of his cows work. God brought him the title of banker to many people, specializing in loans to farmers and ranchers. He loved helping young farmers and ranchers get started. He had a tendency to take on the responsibility of doing whatever he could to guarantee success for those who came to him for a loan. They also got his advice and understanding of how to make things work for them.

He was a servant of God in the family of Southside Baptist Church for many years. He served as a deacon there. He had a spiritual family of Christian brothers and sisters who were a great help to him in walking through this life.

He was a member and former president of the Lions Club enjoying the opportunity to work with friends to serve the community and meet humanitarian needs. In addition, Jess was a vital member or in a leadership role in countless organizations and clubs.

He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He always wanted to live up to the honor of being their son. He was also preceded in death by his brother Rodney Rundle who he respected and admired tremendously. He was preceded in death by his second set of parents Richard and Glennie Peters, a brother and sister, Jimmy and Imogene Peters.

He is survived by the love of his life, his preferred and only wife, Doris Wall. By his six children who made him the proudest father of all: Leck and Anny Wall, Lana and Tommy Lozure, Brad and Bridgette Wall. By his three precious granddaughters who have brought him great joy: Braylee Wall, Bristol Wall, and Genevieve Lozure. He is survived by a brother and sisters who he always looked up to: Arvel and Glenda Wall, Len Roberson, and Beckie Rundle. By many nieces and nephews who God allowed him the privilege of being a mentor and an example for them to follow. He also has a family brought to him by marriage. He is survived by brothers and sisters: Richie and Linda Brotherton, Laron and Alice Peters, Oran and Karon Sain. Also, nieces and nephews from Doris' family. He is survived also by a host of family and friends.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Ranger Academic Fund, Lions Club, or Southside Baptist Church.
