Jimmy Richard Bartel, 75, of Balko, Oklahoma passed away at his home on Thursday, June 11, 2020. Graveside service will be held Monday, June 15, 2020, 2:00 pm at the Balko Mennonite Cemetery with Rev. Fred Huff officiating. Viewing will be Saturday, June 13, 9:00 am - 9:00 pm and Sunday, June 14, 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Family visitation Sunday, June 14, 2020 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Boxwell Funeral Home in Perryton. Arrangements are made by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.

Jimmy was born August 25, 1944 over the old Burke Drug Store in Perryton, Tx to Chester and Edith Kulow Bartel. He married Carolyn Leighnor April 12, 1974 in Perryton. They had one son, Justin.

Jimmy grew up in the Balko, Ok area community enjoying all the fun the outdoors had to offer. He graduated from Balko High School. He loved hunting and fishing and had a passion for cooking out on the BBQ grill.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of their home; son, Justin Bartel of Norman, Ok; step mother, Louise Bartel, of Washington, Mo; step sister, Vicki Farr, of Washington, Mo; step brother, Toben Liibs of Broken Arrow, Ok.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Clara Bartel Ferguson.
