Juan was born on June 3, 1958, in Caldwell, Texas to Felix Lopez and Mary Jane Lopez Cazarez.  Juan and Angie De La Cruz were married on December 12, 1976, in Spearman.  He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spearman.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Felix Lopez, a sister, Veronica Lopez, and a nephew, Johnny Rivera.

He is survived by his wife, Angie of the home, daughter, Jennifer and husband Thomas Torres of Amarillo, son, Ashley Juan Lopez of Spearman, brothers, Victor Lopez of Amarillo, Tx., Rick Lopez of Borger, TX, Joe Cazarez of Snyder, TX., David Cazarez of Washington State, Leroy Cazarez of, Wyoming, sisters, Silvia Riveria of Borger, and Lisa Cazarez of Lubbock, TX.  He also leaves his granddaughter, Linzey Torres.

Juan "Johnny" Lopez was a devoted husband, father, and Papa whose greatest joy was his family. He was a loving brother and uncle, always ready with a smile, a helping hand, and endless patience.

Juan believed deeply in the power of education and was incredibly proud to see his children and granddaughter graduate from college. He too eventually attended college and proudly earned a mechanical certification. God blessed him with the gift of working with his hands and a sharp mind for solving problems. He spent many years as the Transportation Director at Gruver ISD, where he guided countless students—teaching them how to change a tire, the difference between the gas and brake pedals, and a little about life along the way.

When he wasn't working, Juan could often be found with his guitar in hand. A self-taught musician, he loved sharing his passion and teaching anyone eager to learn. Though a quiet man, he had a playful side, especially when it came to his favorite game—pool. He'd joke about betting you $1,000 (in pretend money, of course), let you win the first game, and then win the next with a big grin that said it was all in fun.

Juan could fix just about anything he put his mind and heart to. When he wasn't fixing something, you could find him watching his all-time favorite TV show, Gunsmoke, or a Dallas Cowboys football game.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and forever remembered by those who loved him.
