Kenneth Roger Slaughter, 86, a longtime resident of  Perryton, Texas passed away Thursday evening, January 16, 2020 in Hugoton, Kansas. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 20, 2020 at 10:00 a. m. at First Baptist Church of Perryton, Tx, officiated by Rev. Richard Laverty. Burial will follow in Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton, Texas. Family visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at the funeral home.
Mr. Slaughter was born on June 30, 1933 in Anthony, Kansas to Howard and Florence (Cantwell) Slaughter.
He married Alma Jean (Jeannie) Miller on February 21, 1957 in Perryton, Tx and had two sons, Kelly and Howard (Howie). He was a retired oil field pumper in the Perryton area.
Kenneth served in the US Army from 1953-1955. He was a sports enthusiast who loved watching his boys and grandchildren play sports. He also loved watching the Dallas Cowboys.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry and Robert; and one sister, Connie Mills.
Mr. Slaughter is survived by his loving wife, Alma Jean (Jeannie) of Hugoton, Ks; two sons, Kelly Slaughter and wife Michelle of Hugoton, KS; Howard (Howie) Slaughter and wife Valerie of Topeka, Ks; five grandchildren, Justen Slaughter of Georgetown, Tx; Richelle Miles and husband Rob of Choctaw, Ok; Jessie Slaughter of Rolla, Ks, Chelsie Slaughter of Topeka, Ks and Colby Slaughter of Emporia, Ks; one sister, Anita Price and husband A.C. of Amarillo, Tx; one brother, Galen Slaughter and wife Flora of Dallas.
