Ma. Elena Guzman Cruz, 64, of Mexico, passed away April 30, 2024 in Mexico.  Viewing will be Friday, May 10, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Perryton, Texas.  Mass will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. with Father Cesar Gomez officiating.  Burial will follow in Ochiltree Cemetery, and arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton, Texas.

Mrs. Cruz was born on December 24, 1959 to Anastacio Guzman and Hilaria Cruz in Apaseo Nieves Zacatecas, Mexico.  She lived on a ranch for many years, and she loved taking care of cows.  She was a bird lover, and she loved her three dogs.  She also loved flowers and plants, and if there was a plant or flower, she knew the name of it!

Mrs. Cruz is survived by her husband, Jose Luis Garcia, two sons, Cristobal Salazar of Amarillo, Texas, and Gustavo Salazar of Chicago, Illinois; two daughters, Rosa Salazar and Zulema Garcia, both of Perryton, Texas; one sister, Leandra Espino of Perryton, Texas; two brothers, Ovidio Guzman of El Paso, Texas,  and Pascual Guzman of Perryton, Texas; and five grandchildren, Jacqueline Ramirez of Perryton, Texas, Samantha Ramirez of Perryton, Texas, Jackeline Salazar, Francisco Salazar and Natalia Salazar, all of Chicago, Illinois.

Mrs. Cruz was preceded in death by her mother; and one sister, Martha Guzman.
