Maria Gonzalez, 86, of Perryton, Tx passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 am Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Perryton with Felix Tudon officiating. Burial will follow at Ochiltree Cemetery. Rosary is scheduled for 7:00 pm, Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home with vigil to follow. The funeral home will be open for viewing/visitation Tuesday (10/20/20) from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Due to COVID 19 guidelines, we will be practicing social distancing and occupancy numbers will be limited. Maria was born on September 1, 1934 to Rafael and Altagracia Rivera Gonzalez in Torreon Coahuila, Mexico. She married Luis Ortega on April 4, 1954 in Chihuahua, Mexico. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Perryton. Maria loved her family and was a great wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her four daughters, Guadalupe Ortega of Perryton, Tx; Rosa Maria Ortega of Perryton, Tx; Maria Ortega of Perryton, Tx; Enedina Ortega of Grand Prairie, Tx; two sons, Luis Raul Ortega of Perryton, Tx and Arturo Ortega of Kansas City, Mo; 19 grandchildren; three brothers, Dolores Gonzalez, Pedro Gonzalez, and Rafael Gonzalez.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Rafael and Altagracia Gonzalez, her husband, Luis Ortega and one brother, Fidel Gonzalez.
