Marion
Nollner
Apr 5, 1939 — Mar 31, 2026
Spearman,Texas
On 03/31/2026 Edith Marion Nollner was released from this existence and has gone on to be with her Lord. Viewing will be on Monday April 6, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday April 7,2026 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman. There will be a grave side service held at the Hansford Cemetery on Tuesday April 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Her favorite color is red; a splash of red will be much appreciated. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Marion was born 04/05/1939 in Perryton Texas to Alvie and Ollie Stroud. She lived most of her life in the Panhandle of Texas with some stops in south Texas where she would give birth to her daughter Sharon then in Wyoming, Lander being the longest where she loved the mountains and raised her daughter. She overcame extreme poverty and circumstances that would leave others bitter and angry to become a wonderful, sweet, loving person whose smile and shining eyes made you feel better just to be in her presence. She had the wonderful ability to be able to talk and make friends with anyone. Her greatest joy was her family and friends which she loved ferociously.
After her husband passed away this incredible, Texas tough woman would hitch up her 5th wheel and head to the lake with her brother and his family or to Arizona for the winter well into her 70’s. Her adventurous spirit also led her to travel outside the country in her later years visiting England, France then to Turks n Caicos (learning to swim just before going).
You would often find her behind the wheel of her big white Dodge diesel cruising around town, or on her lawn tractor taking care of her yard.
She loved being a part of so many young people’s lives in Spearman as the lunch lady, then as a teacher after getting her certificate at the age of 72. Almost everywhere we went someone would say how much they enjoyed having her either in the lunchroom or classroom.
She had a gift for taking care of others and enjoyed taking care of some of the elderly women in town “her ladies” as she would call them and was always cooking and trying to find something they would enjoy.
To say that she will be missed would underestimate her importance in so many lives.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Billy Nollner, her brothers Dale and Benny Stroud, her sister Clara Shipp, and in her words the best son in law ever Mike Adams. She is survived by her brother James Stroud, daughter Sharon Adams, grandson Ryan Adams and her much loved great grandsons Declan Adams and Aidan Adams of Arizona, she is also survived by her bonus daughter Jody Threatt, and the man in her life Harrison (Slats) Baker.
I want to thank everyone in Spearman who really went above and beyond for my mother over the years I will always be grateful. A special thank you to Dr Mark Garnett who worked hard to give me more precious years to love her.
