Matias  Torres, 79, formerly  of  Spearman, passed  away in Amarillo on Friday, February 19,2021. There will be a private family service and burial.   Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Matias was born on December 6, 1941, to Jose Torres and Antonia Flores in Mexico.  Matias  and Atanacia  Aguilar "Annie" were married on October 1, 1966 Madero, Mexico.  He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Amarillo.

Matias was the best loving, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather that anyone could ask for.  He liked watching Grit T.V. and going to flea markets.  He loved candy.  He always wanted his family to work hard, be happy and healthy and to do good.  He loved his family dearly.

Matias was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Torres , his parents and a brother.

He is survived by his two sons, Jose Juan Torres of San Antonio, Manuel Torres of Ft. Worth and daughter Maria Antonia Surace of Amarillo.  He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters and one younger brother.
