Paul Edward Kauffman, of Decatur, Texas, formerly of Perryton, Texas, walked through heaven's gates in the evening hours of October 4th, 2023, surrounded by family in Decatur, TX.   His chains are gone, he's been set free.  A private immediate family graveside service will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Ochiltree cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton, Texas.

Mr. Kauffman was born on April 19, 1936 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Emery Otto Kauffman and Mary Oswald.  He attended West Texas A & M University, and he married his high school sweetheart, Karen Colleen O'Quin, on September 28, 1956 in Clayton, New Mexico.  He was a member of Key Heights Baptist Church, and he was a truck driver for an extended career, traveling all across the country.  He had a passion for John Deere tractors, old steam engines and various collections. He was a very loving father and "pawpaw" and will be forever missed.

Those left behind to cherish Mr. Kauffman's memory are his wife, Colleen, of Decatur, Texas; his daughter, Valerie Davidson and husband, Ted of Jacksboro, Texas; grandchildren, Tara Thorne and husband Matthew of Del Rio,TX, Ethan Davidson of Decatur,TX, Caleb Davidson of Jacksboro,TX, Hannah Rust and husband Levi of Decatur,TX.; one brother, Joe Kauffman of Minnesota; 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, a son, Greg, and a granddaughter.
