Paul was born on June 22, 1948 to Cresencio Lopez and Maria Martinez Lopez in Slaton, Texas. He married his high school sweetheart, Adela Garcia on May 15th, 1965 in Littlefield, Texas.
In 1966, at the age of 18, he was hired by Pete Fisher to work at Thriftway in Spearman, Texas, where he remained for 25 years before moving on to Lowe's where he worked for an additional 23 years. Paul spent the last 16 years of his career in Perryton and after a total of 48 years in the grocery industry; he retired from being the general manager of Lowe's Grocery Store/Supermarket. Paul found great joy in helping young high school kids and motivating them to reach their goals. Many young adults admired him as their first boss, and he had a knack for fostering trust and boosting their confidence.
Upon retiring in 2014 Paul began cultivating his own vegetable garden, which he happily shared with his family and friends. Paul enjoyed listening to music, playing his guitar, collecting knives and watching all sports, especially if his boys were playing.
Though retired Paul also worked as a salesman for Irwin Auto and delivered vehicles across Texas, the Oklahoma Panhandle and neighboring states. Paul later served as a jack of all trades for Bryce Hale at Perryton Realty, where he was able to work and interact with the community, which he enjoyed. His lifelong passions were his wife, sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his wife of 59 years, Adela; four sons, Paulino Lopez, Jr. of Harker Heights, Texas; Michael Lopez and wife Linda of Amarillo, Texas; Cresencio Lopez of Lubbock, Texas, and Danny Lopez of Perryton, Texas; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one sister, Estella Lopez.
