Pete, was born on June 7,1971 in Spearman to Bruce Bailey and Sharon Tope Bailey.
Peter William Mauk, was best known as Pete, or even "Peter Parker" (as in spider man) to many others. He was a man that sought to find the good in the world and people. Even in difficult times, he did his best to try and not let life get the best of him and spread happiness to others. If you were part of his circle, you knew Pete loved hard and would always have your back. He was someone that never hesitated to show up when you needed him.
Through the years Pete enjoyed activities such as golfing and fishing, but found in the last couple years he had a passion for cruising. He often took 2-3 a year taking in new places and adventures, as well as meeting new friends along the way.
One thing remained constant though, no matter where he was his favorite time of the day was always early morning. You'd often find him with a cup of coffee in hand, in silence staring out as the rising sun. If you asked him why he liked getting up so early he would tell you "It's the best time to have a conversation with the big man upstairs, and watch him paint the most beautiful art in the world as the sun comes up."
He enjoyed his morning talks with the Lord as much as he enjoyed talking to strangers. He was never lacking for words or stories.
Our life's may never be the same without Pete with us, but Heaven sure has gained a gem to make the skies shine brighter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pete is survived by two daughters, Ashley Mauk and Melody Henson of North Richland Hills, Texas sisters, Cari Mauk of Fort Worth, TX. Jenifer Gani, Judy Neudorf and siblings at heart, Ryan and Carrie Taylor of Sulphur Bluff , TX.and brothers, Lyle Mauk and Danny Mauk. He is also survived by his aunt , Karen Goodman and husband Keith of Pampa, uncles, Jimmy Tope, Darrel Tope and Jerry Tope of Pampa, TX. and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
