Burial will follow in Hansford Cemetery in Spearman, Texas. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Spearman, Texas.
Petra was born on April 15, 1936, in Mathis, Texas. She married the love of her life, Francisco Lozano, and to this beautiful union were born seven children. For many years, she poured herself into raising her spirited children, holding them to high standards with the kind of strength only a devoted mother possesses. Her sternness was simply love with a backbone.
Petra was steadfast in her faith and loved her family fiercely. She touched many lives in many ways, but cooking for those she loved was her love language. Everyone was welcome at her table.
Petra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francisco Lozano; her son, Ramon Lozano; her newborn son, Fernando Lozano; and two brothers and two sisters. Petra was blessed with a large and loving family, including 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. She is also survived by her brother, Leandro Martinez and wife, Lucy, of Alvin, Texas; and her sister, Virginia Reyes of Spearman. She leaves behind her children: Frank Lozano and wife, Lawanda, of Chickasha, Oklahoma; Felipe Lozano and wife, Nikki, of Spearman; Sandra Carbajal and husband, Ruben, of Spearman; Jesse Lozano and wife, Veronica, of Pearland, Texas; Beatrice Lozano and fiancé, Ricky Alexander, of Spearman; son, Steve Madrigal of Clovis, New Mexico, and daughter, Liz Madrigal, also of Clovis.
Petra's legacy lives on through the family she loved so dearly. Like trees, branches of our large family have grown in many directions, but our roots have always and will always remain in her.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Hansford Hospice at 707 Roland in Spearman or Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation, 1732 Hagy BLVD, Amarillo, TX 79106
