Richard A. Nowlin, 79, of Booker, Tx passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021. A graveside service scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Heart Cemetery in Booker with Josh Clevenger officiating. Family visitation is scheduled for Wednesday (12/15/21) from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel in Booker. Viewing/visitation is scheduled for Tuesday (12/14/21) from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Wednesday (12/15/21) 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Thursday (12/16/21) 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Chapel in Booker. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.

Richard was born on July 29, 1942 to Royce and Thelma (Arnold) Nowlin in Perryton, Texas. He married Carol Crawford on December 10, 1966 in Perryton, Texas. He was a USDA Federal food and meat inspector at the Booker Packing Plant. He was actively involved in Boy Scouts and served as a Scout Master for 18 years. He was a member of the Perryton Bass Club, Booker Fire Department and the Booker Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carol, of the home; sons, Clinton Nowlin of Elkton, Kentucky and Allen Nowlin of Booker, Texas; daughter, Renaii Ortiz of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Billy Nowlin of New Braunfels, Texas; sister, T.J. Vaughn of Fayetteville, Arkansas; five nieces; and two nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Royce and Thelma Nowlin; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. RB Yoakley and Mr. & Mrs. Frank Arnold.
