Robert L. Moore, 81, peacefully went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2021. Robert was born on October 15, 1939, in Friendswood, TX to Foy and Clorene (Ruckman) Moore. He was taught scripture by his parents, preaching his first sermon at the age of 14, continuously yearned for deeper wisdom and lovingly shared his adoration of our Lord with all those who crossed his path.

Robert was the 1958 Valedictorian of Bronte High School and met his wife Annette while attending San Angelo College. After graduation from SAC, he continued his education at The University of Texas competing in pole vault and receiving an Engineering Science degree. A 1961 marriage to Annette produced a son, Steven, a daughter, Susan and a beautifully long companionship. Robert held positions as an engineer, an Austin area realtor, a Houseparent and Asst. Superintendent at the Tipton Children's Home, a Production Foreman for Marlin Oil and lastly an operator of oil/gas production as the President of R&A Moore, Inc. He enjoyed tooling leather crafts and liked catching rattlesnakes to make hat bands, until he got bit by one. Robert was a lifetime member of the NRA, the SPE and a Texas Relays official for many years. Working at the Tipton Children's Home were the only years spent outside of Texas, but loving and unofficially adopting many kids who still call him 'Dad' was worth the need to live in OK! An engineer to his core, Robert always sought to invent, repair and improve. This creative desire, lead to an invention collaboration with Windel Mayfield and they were granted a US patent for a unique casing plunger (PAL) that would improve oil/gas productivity. Despite being graduates of rival Texas colleges, Robert and Windel had a great working relationship and a lasting friendship.

Residing in Perryton, TX for 20 years, Robert was an elder at the Perryton Church of Christ and later assisted with a Walk to Emmaus in Waka, TX where he helped lead several walks and formed many meaningful relationships as he exercised his discipleship; growing, learning and leading others to a closer walk with God. In order to be closer to their 9 grandchildren, Robert and Annette moved to Weatherford, TX in 2000. They worshipped & served with the Oak Ridge Church of Christ, residing in Weatherford until Annette went to be with the Lord in 2016.

In July 2018, Robert reconnected with a friend from Perryton; their relationship blossomed and in Nov. 2018, Lynn Crain and Robert were blissfully married. Robert and Lynn enjoyed traveling, visiting family and friends, laughing and deeply loving each other every day. We are so grateful and comforted to know that Lynn was by his side as Robert passed from earth into the presence of God! We are so thankful to have loved and to have experienced the loyal love so generously poured out by Robert L. Moore.

Robert was preceded in death most recently by his wife of 55 years, Rae Annette Duncan Moore; parents, Foy L. and Clorene Moore; sister, June Moore Lee; son, Ty Markart; granddaughter, Kalyn Moore; grandson, Reece Moore; and nephew, Todd Mullican.

Robert is survived by his wife, Lynn Crain Moore; his son, Steven Moore and wife, Rebecca of Cleburne, TX; his daughter, Susan Moore Webb of Bedford, TX; grandchildren, Mackenzie Webb Gamboa and husband Roy; Keaton Webb, Zachary Moore, Garrett Moore, Lauren Moore Krahn and husband Curtis; Haley Moore Everett and husband Jordan; Brittany Dent Watkins and husband Nick; Stephanie Dent; siblings Jean Moore Mullican and husband Lee; Joy Moore Missildine and Tim Moore and wife Lidia; numerous beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and a favorite furry best dog-pal, Tucker.
