Rojelio "Roy" Diaz,65, of Gruver passed away on March 4, 2025 in Amarillo, Texas.   Viewing will be on Sunday March 9,2025 (1:00p.m.-9:00p.m.) at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman with a Rosary at 6:00p.m..  Funeral services will be on Monday, March 10, 2025 at 10:00a.m. at the Gruver Church of Christ with Mark Washburn officiating.    Burial will follow at the Gruver Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Roy was born on February 27,1960 in Lubbock, Texas to Alfredo Diaz and Elpidia Arzola Diaz.  He was a member of the Gruver Church of Christ.

He was quite the prankster, loved to cook out, playing pool and talking on the phone.  He was told he was very stubborn and had "9" lives.  He loved his dogs, and was a "animal lover".

He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Linda.

Roy is survived by his daughter, Serena Diaz and husband Luis Mendoza of Gruver, son, Julius Diaz of Gruver, brothers, Roderigo of Hereford, TX., Alfredo Diaz Jr. and wife Lina Diaz of Beeville , TX.; Juan Cardenas and wife Sylvia of Hereford, TX.; sisters, Mary Ortiz and husband Fidel Ortiz of Friona, Texas Gracie Diaz of Hereford, TX. and Angelica Alaniz of Homestead Florida. He is also survived by his granddaughter Ellie Mendoza of Gruver and numerous nieces and nephews.
