Salomon was born on December 22, 1954 in San Onofre, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was married to the late Armida Borunda de Tarango for 42 years. Salomon and Armida immigrated from Mexico to Clovis, NM in 1977. They moved to Gruver in 1985 and two years later settled in Spearman where Salomon lived for 34 years.
Salomon was intelligent, humorous, quick-witted, and well-spoken. He was a genuine, practical, and incredibly thrifty man. In 1977, with immense courage he left everything he knew the first 23 years of his life to begin a new life in the U.S. He made many sacrifices for the sake of his family. His unquestionable love for his family and his life-long love of learning was evident. He especially enjoyed working in agronomy. For a few years, Salomon had his own spraying business. He was employed by Spearman Equity for over 20 years and he also spent over 10 years working in the oil and gas field. Salomon was never idle and would often take on unwanted projects at work and around the house to stay busy. He was a spiritual man and was involved in many church activities. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church as well as the Knights of Columbus. Soon after arriving in the U.S., Salomon developed a strong love for the English language. He was enrolled in many ESL classes. One of his greatest accomplishments was learning to speak fluent English. Salomon was recently given the opportunity to speak in front of the SISD School Board. This was a very proud moment for him and his family. He retired in 2021 and was looking forward to serving on the Hansford Cemetery Board.
Salomon is survived by his children, Jose Tarango and wife Sylvia, Lisa Munoz and husband Gerardo, and Luis Carlos Tarango. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Maria Isabel Tarango, Gerardo Ezequiel Munoz, Chloe Celeste Tarango, Jose Natanael Tarango, Ana Patricia Munoz, and Dominic Alejandro Tarango. He is also survived by his sister, Alvara Tarango de Guerrero from Chihuahua, Mexico, his brother David Tarango, and wife Lucy, from Clovis, NM, Regino Tarango and wife Zulema from Liberal, KS, and Agustina Tarango de Rivero and husband Carmelo, from Mesquite, NM as well as many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He was preceded by his beloved wife, Armida Borunda de Tarango, his daughter Ana Patricia Tarango, and his parents, Regino Tarango and Celia Tarango de Tarango.
Salomon's family is honored to celebrate his life. They will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. The family would like to thank all the wonderful hospice caretakers that supported them during this difficult time.
The family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Hansford Hospice.
