Sheila was born in Spearman, Texas on October 1, 1953, to Sam Patterson and Barbara Hawkins Patterson. Sheila Patterson and Andy Watley were married on May 25, 1974, in Canyon Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gruver.

In the time Sheila was growing up in Spearman, TX, she was an excellent athlete and student. She went to state in tennis and basketball all four years of high school earning her a letterman jacket full of Texas state patches and accolades. After one year at West Texas State, she followed Coach Dean Weese to Wayland Baptist University where she was a Flying Queen. After meeting the love of her life, she soon married Andy Watley starting their 52 year marriage. Sheila began her coaching and teaching career which brought them to many towns around the Panhandle such as Slaton, Hereford, Spearman, Gruver and Texhoma. Coach Watley touched many lives, leaving impacts with each stop. She was blessed to have loved, coached and taught so many wonderful student athletes. She was the greatest elementary PE teacher, AAU coach and leader who served her kids and the community kids at every opportunity. Sheila was known as Mrs. Watley and Coach Watley but more adoringly was SheShe to many and GG to a very special group of grand kids whom she was the most proud of. GG was her favorite title and she loved her family well. She spent her time as the fun coordinator thinking up ideas to create community. She was the go to pep rally entertainment, rarely missed the pool's ladies hour and had the home where all the kids gathered. Sheila was the perfect piece in all of the fun because she had the best laugh and found humor in everything. This all came from God placing the ministry of gathering, fellowship and loving others in her heart. God gave her a humor like no other and a strength beyond compare.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Sam & Barbara. She is survived by her husband, Andy Watley, daughters, Janae and husband Kyle Igo of Sundown, TX., Amy and husband, Chris Ryburn of Midland TX., grandchildren, Isaiah Igo, Drew Igo, Carter Ryburn, Sonny Ryburn, Lane Ryburn, sister Phyllis and husband Jim Kirkland, Ransom Canyon, TX. She is also survived by nephew, Brent and wife Shana Kirkland and children, and niece, Krista, husband, Bryan Gerlich and children, along with many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
