Sydney Belle Schaeffer Dean, age 72, of Perryton, Tx passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021. Memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 30, 2021. Burial will be scheduled for a later date in Ochiltree Cemetery. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.

Sydney was born on June 14, 1949 in Long Beach, CA. to Roy and Dorothy Dezell Schaeffer. She married Terry (Cheesy) Dean on October 25, 1967 in Las Vegas, NV. Mrs. Dean was a devoted housewife, mother and grandmother who had previously worked as a Respiratory Therapist and later as a Bus Driver for Perryton Schools where her love and generosity were frequently expressed to the children on her bus route.  She loved her church and was especially fond of animals.  At the family's request, Therapy Dogs will be present at the service in her honor.

She is survived by her husband, Terry of the home; two daughters, Tracey Dawn Smith and husband, Bob, of Russell, Ks and Hollie Belle Leal and husband, Mike, of Amarillo, Tx; son, Randall David Dean and  wife, Kelly, of Perryton, Tx; one granddaughter, Courtney Smith; three grandsons, Remington Smith of Russell, KS, Alden Leal and Elgin Leal both of Amarillo, TX; two sisters, Stacy Clem and husband, David, of Springfield, MO and Dee Yeager of Bakersfield, CA.

Sydney was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Dorothy Schaeffer and a sister, Dawn Watts of Bakersfield, CA.

The family suggests memorials be made in her name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, Tn 38148-0142 or one's favorite charity.
