Donald Ward officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Terry was born on January 17, 1956, in Friona, Texas, to J.E. Sherrill and Patsy Clem Sherrill. He married the love of his life, Cherri Brown, on April 21, 1984, in Quitaque, Texas, and together they built a life marked by dedication to faith, family, and community.

Before starting his own accounting practice serving Gruver and the surrounding areas, Terry worked for Shirley Grain in Bovina, Arthur Young Accounting Firm, Friona Industries of Amarillo, Chamberlin Manufacturing in Nogales, Arizona, and Dean Cluck Feedyard of Gruver. He took great pride in his work and was known for his integrity, reliability, and commitment to helping others.

Terry was a longtime member of Gruver Methodist Church, where his faith guided his life and service. He served on the Gruver School Board, the Hansford County Appraisal Board, the Gruver Methodist Finance Committee, and as a board member of AgTexas (formerly Great Plains Ag Credit).

Above all else, Terry cherished his family. He is survived by his wife, Cherri Sherrill, of the home in Gruver; daughter, Ashleigh Ferrer and husband Jake, of Houston, Texas; sons, T. Jay Sherrill and wife Kendra, of Claude, Texas, and Tanner Sherrill and wife Colleen, of Plano, Texas; brother, Steve Sherrill and wife Trish, of Claude, Texas; and sisters, Wendy Curry and husband Greg, of Canyon, Texas, and Patti Brown and husband Blair, of Panhandle, Texas.

Terry was a proud and loving “Gus” to his eight grandchildren: Harrison, Finnley, Barrett, Patton, Reagan, Kennedy, Decker, and Carter, each of whom brought him immense joy.

Terry will be remembered for his steady presence, kind heart, strong work ethic, and his unwavering devotion to those he loved. He leaves behind a legacy of faith and family that will continue through all who knew him.

The family suggests memorials in Terry’s memory be made to Hansford Hospice (707 Roland, Spearman, TX 79081); Gruver Methodist Church (506 E Broadway St, Gruver, TX 79040); or the Gruver City Library (PO Box 701, Gruver, TX 79040).
