Thomas Christopher (Chip)
Daniel
d. Jun 2, 2026
Thomas Christopher (Chip) Daniel took his last breath on this earth on the afternoon of June 2, 2026, in Amarillo, Tx, surrounded by his loving parents and sister. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Ochiltree Cemetery in Perryton, Texas. Please feel free to share loving and happy memories, lyrics, a special memento, scriptures and stories at this time. Please join the family that afternoon at the Daniel ranch (13895 County Road U) on Wolf Creek from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. for refreshments, pictures, and stories. Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton, Texas.
Chip was born on January 31, 1971, to Thomas Brodie and Cynthia Eason Daniel (Moore). Born to a farming and ranching family, Chip had the earliest interest in the mechanics of engines, tractors, growing things, and all aspects of farming. He spent many a happy childhood hour, with his toy implements plowing and harvesting my mother’s wheat colored den carpeting. After graduation from Perryton high school in 1990, Chip graduated from Indian meridian diesel mechanic school in Stillwater, Ok. Chip was just a boy when he began taking on the task of farming with his dad as a steady hand, partner and companion. Years later, after the frustrations of difficult years and with an incredible confidence and entrepreneurial spirit, Chip struck out for Florida. Waving goodbye to the dust of the Texas panhandle, he took on a pool and spa servicing business on St. George Island, and he made a go of it. True to form, Chip learned a lot from new friends he made easily, but he would often figure things out by taking apart his own pool pumps, pipes, lights, and spa. He was so talented at understanding how things worked, serious about customer relations, and steadfast about perfection, that he thrived. Time and a great many incidents and accidents eventually led to a worn body and spirit. Chip moved back to Texas just a couple of years ago.
Chip carried far greater than mundane participation trophies in every activity of life. He was vibrant, funny, a little wild, intelligent, and generous. He was athletic, handsome, dependable, super tough…and beyond measure, loving and loved. He valued so many new and life long friendships over his 55 years and lived each day with a fiercely protective and noble, deep love of family. He adored animals, social events, working, eating a great meal, driving fast, golf, and tinkering, among a zillion other things. Walking into somewhere with him felt like being a part of something bigger than the event itself, people literally hollering his name wherever he arrived. He was absolutely unique in all the best ways.
Chip is survived by his parents Brodie Daniel and Cindy and Johnny Moore, his sister Emily Daniel DeArmond, two stepbrothers, Mitch Moore and Jay Moore, three daughters Chloe, Cora, and Kyra, and one grandchild, Paislee. He is also survived by so many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Chip had a vast collection of valued friendships throughout his short life, from childhood to his last days, and because of that, we are grateful and humbled at so much true sympathy we have received as we mourn the enormity of this loss.
Chip was preceded in death by his grandparents Buck and Wilma Eason, Betty Daniel and John C. Daniel, an uncle David Daniel, all of which he knew and loved well during his life.
A memorial service will be announced at a future date. In lieu of flowers, Chip would have been honored to have donations sent to charitable entities in his name. He donated many times over the years for just such causes.
