Tilden Oakes Scroggs, 88, of Spearman, went to be with his heavenly family and Jesus on his birthday , Thursday, September 19,2024.  Viewing will be on Saturday, September 21, 2024 (9:00am-9:00p.m.) Sunday, September 22,2024 (1:00p.m.- 9:00p.m.) and Monday, September 23,2024,(9:00a.m.-2:00p.m.) at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman.  Graveside services will be on Monday, September 23, 2024, 3:00p.m. at Hansford Cemetery with Rev. Danny Hendricks officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Tilden was born on September 19,1936 in rural Hansford County, to Oakes Scroggs and Opal Faus Scroggs.  Tilden was the Forman for Hutchinson County, Precinct 4 for 48 years.  He was the mother, father, and provider for all of his 4 children.

Tilden was very mechanical minded man and could solve almost every problem.  He was a hard worker  the best dad, and grandfather you could ever have wanted.  He was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church of Spearman.

Tilden was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Teresa Eakins,sisters, Irene Ford, Doris Jean Pipkin, June Edwards, Joyce Leach and brothers, Ted Scroggs and Dallen Scroggs.

He is survived by his son, Larry Scroggs of Spearman, daughters, Delinda Piatt of Portsmouth RI., Kimberly Rex of Spearman, brother, James Scroggs of Spearman, and sisters, Mary Beth Harper of Spearman, Coleen Neal of Lebonan, Missouri, Zada Cooper of Decator, TX., Peggy Mitchell of Mansfield, TX. and Sharon Johnson of Spearman.  He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Family suggests memorials be to Hansford Manor, 707 Roland, Spearman, Texas 79081 and the American Cancer Society.
