Tony Johnson, 72, of Perryton, Tx passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the Amarillo VA Hospital.  A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 22, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Perryton with Rev. Duce Cooper officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.

Tony Wayne Johnson was born December 21, 1949 in Ardmore, OK to Bill and Irene (Briscoe) Johnson. He was a 1968 graduate of Perryton High School. Tony was a member of the US Army from 1971-1976 and served in Vietnam. He married Henryetta Lehman on August 30, 1974. They had two children, David and Penny. Tony worked in the oilfield as a drilling superintendent for Leonard Hudson Drilling for many years. He also worked for Unit Drilling and then later as an oil and gas consultant. His hobbies included guns, fishing, casinos and riding his Harley.

Tony is survived by his wife, Henryetta of the home; son, David Johnson and wife, Brenda and their three children, Katie, Tobi and Daric; daughter, Penny Juarez and her son, Damian.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Irene Johnson and one brother, Mark Johnson.
