Wanda was born May 5, 1935, in Hardeman County, Tx to Fred and Essie (Walker) Blassingame. They settled in Lubbock, TX to raise their family. Both her parents preceded her in death.

She married Kenneth Dale Tyler on April 19, 1955. He died in August of that year in an industrial accident. Their daughter Sherry Lynn Tyler was born six months later.

She married Charles Raymond Franklin Fanning on June 13, 1957, in Plainview, TX. They settled in Muleshoe, TX in 1964 where they raised her daughter Sherry and their son Brent. Charles died on April 14, 1998. Afterward, Wanda moved to Perryton, TX in 2005 to be closer to family.

She liked to cook for family, friends, and unexpected house guests. She was well known for her beautiful flower gardens, for she enjoyed gardening and preserving the fruits of her labor. She could often be found on the phone with family and friends and was always ready and willing to help where needed. She enjoyed participating in Kingdom Hall construction projects, whether it be in the kitchen, painting, or in safety and clean-up. She was not afraid to share her faith with anyone who would listen and was known for being regular at congregation meetings and in the ministry, even during the difficult times in her life.

She is survived by her sister, Rebeca Ruth Cline of Lubbock, TX; daughter, Sherry Lynn Caldwell of Waka, TX; granddaughters, April Dawn and husband, Shannon Conner and her great-granddaughter Jaden Elise Conner of San Angelo, TX., Andrea Gail and husband, Kevin Doiel of Balko, OK.; her son, Charles Brent Fanning and wife, Beatrice, of Brownwood, TX; granddaughters, Ashley Nicole and husband, Brian, Hogenson of Brownwood, TX, and Elida Uvalle of Brownwood, TX, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends who are too numerous to mention, but not forgotten.
